Heh. I loved this. I got a kick out of Possessive!Ray, and your bookstore gossip idea is inspired.

my friend!

i work at a bookstore. that gossip is not an idea, it's my life!

this back-and-forth third party view was highly entertaining, and i love the end. i was also quite amused by this: btw – cute combat capris at express. i work for express, and the unexpected random mention totally cracked me up.

i was specifically talking about the camo ones with the embroidered flowers. and my friend really did think i was sick for liking them.

Oh lordy, this was precious! I was grinning through the whole thing. Especially when it turns out it was the bookstore staff that got them together! Heee!

If this is sickly-sweet, I have a sugar addiction...

Lucky Jen! ^_^

Awww, I envy her! ;) Getting to see it all unravel and become twisted again in a game of naked Twister. ^_^ And I liked that "Q-tip" turn of phrase. I'm so gonna use that in RL. ;)

Great job!

well, really, aren't they?

isn't that what makes writing the fanfic so fun?

Very adorable.

oh, that all we do here! try to match people up based on their tastes in books!

I love all these stories where people bring a bit of themselves into them. This was no exception, Doll. I absolutely love it. Now if I could figure out a plumbing problem they could get billed for, I'd be set. LOL

[info]doll_revolution

June 23 2003, 15:32:02 UTC 8 years ago

dude, plumbing problems?!?!?

i had to stifle about six filthy thoughts when you said that!

go! go! WRITE!

Post-It Notes: The official communications medium of the 21st Century.

Seriously, though, I loved this. Used to work in an doctor's office where we'd attach post-its to patient charts if they were "ahem" interesting in any way.

And I'm a sucker for Alpha! Ray. Even when he doesn't quite understand why he's being alpha.

[info]doll_revolution

June 23 2003, 16:09:01 UTC 8 years ago

yeah - post-its are great, 'cause you can use them to saw totally slanderous things, but then, poof!

you pull them off, and the evidence is gone.

Totally, totally charming. I love your girls. (And it's ok to have them acting like girls when they're GIRLS. *g*) Love the book titles, too, esp. the ghosts one. Hmm, wonder why F wants that? ; )

[info]doll_revolution

June 23 2003, 20:43:28 UTC 8 years ago

those are real books, with real isbn's. totally orderable. (i looked them up on TitleSource)

the 3rd gay book is the best - you don't see it until you get to the Details page of TitleSource, but it's actually specific to the canadian male experience.

AND, that is the actual, real address and phone # of the current canadian consulate in chicago.

June 23 2003, 20:56:03 UTC 8 years ago

Loved this. What a disappointment to find out BF wasn't on the market, eh?

I liked the voices that came through on the notes, especially:

you’re on! and don’t talk that way about future husb.

I always figured bookstore staff did this, and it's why I get all my smutty reading material by mail order. *G*

[info]doll_revolution

June 23 2003, 21:13:54 UTC 8 years ago

that is a Very Good Plan, because i am telling you that bookstore clerks are the cattiest, most gossipy workers on the planet!!

(well, except for coffee store barista. they're worse)

and i, my friend, am both.

Oh, you are a bookseller heart and soul! I was one, as well, for ten years, so yeah, it's true: I've seen notes like this left about a variety of customers through the years. *Nice.* I loved this:
Ray looked startled and frightened and confused and happy all in about 3 seconds and then he KISSED ME (!!!) and left. –J
